MEET KELLY
Growing up I had a background in nutrition and physical activity and I was a 4-season athlete. My dad was a chef and my mom owned a women’s gym. Our family was always into food nutrition and exercise.
When I was 25 years old, I was in a major car accident that left me with a bad whiplash injury, degenerating disc disease in neck and neck pain. I woke up in massive pain every morning and I needed assistance to move my neck.
At this time, my Mom recommended a take a Pilates class. After the first class, I felt like a million bucks and I was in love with Pilates!
Within two years, I quit my sales job and got certified as a Pilates Instructor by Body Arts and Science International, BASI Pilates. For the past fifteen years, I have specialized in Pre-Natal & Post-Natal Pilates, Pilates for athletes, rehabilitation, POTS, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and clients with chronic illness.
I also offer private one-on-one sessions, as well as semi-private sessions.
In addition, I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach where I work with clients to educate and teach people about the life-changing benefits of nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. In addition, I am the author of “The Road to Chianti” and the “Farm Foodie Fitness Homegrown” cookbook.
When I’m is not running my businesses, I’m at home chasing my three little ones and spending time with friends and family.

Just wanted to thank you for being such a wonderful person and teacher! As my Health Coach you have taught me to understand food and emotion, listening to what the body is saying, and incorporating more raw food into my daily diet. Especially green juice!! I feel better about myself and what I'm doing for my body and what I'm teaching my son. I love your recipe book, "Homegrown," so good! This hasn't been a journey just about food for me, but life and living the best I can. Thank you for having me try foods I never have before! It’s been a wonderful learning experience and I thank you for that!

Kelly is one of those rare people, whom you will remember for a long time. When my daughter was diagnosed with a chronic health condition and was fighting to regain her health after missing six months of school, Kelly created a Pilate's based program which helped restore her strength and overall health. Kelly's work went beyond the exercises: she connected with a shy teen who was in pain; she took each day as it came, pushing as necessary and resting as needed; she brought smiles, healthy recipes, and was a positive role model; she gave a glimpse of a healthier, stronger life and provided the tools and encouragement to attain it. Happy ending (happy beginning?), my daughter is now back at school, addicted to Pilates, yoga, and other healthy exercise, (and Kelly's green smoothies.)
How Kelly gives back
Kelly also organizes and maintains an "Edible School Garden" for a local school in Maryland. There she teaches school children how to plant, maintain, grow, and harvest a garden. She also holds classroom visits with the children to teach them nutrition and wellness, as well as how to prepare healthy meals from their garden harvests.
